Voltage spikes or surges occurring on the input voltage line are filtered by the adapter, thus eliminating potential damage to your powered device. Electrical isolation between input and output prevents ground loops and allows the negative voltage output from the power source to be used positively, when required. The rugged design of the adapter makes it ideally suited for use in harsh conditions.
